Ancient settlers go to an area along the Tiber River in the Italian Peninsula. This would be called Rome, and later be established as a kingdom and would be the foundation for the future of Rome and Italy.
Rome expands to encompass a good amount of the Italian Peninsula, and with that, the Roman monarchy is abolished and Rome changes to a Republic with elections, checks, and balances, and a Senate.
The Gauls, a Celtic people living in modern day France attack Romans and enter Rome, looting it and burning it to the ground.
