Celtic settlers from Western Europe start settling around the Eastern Alpine Valley, and around modern day Hallstatt.
The Romans take over the modern day Austrian region and the rest of the Alpine mountains and remain there. They inhabit the region and soon outnumber the Celtics. Carnantum is established as one of the bigger settlements in the region.
The Germans push further into Roman territory, far into the northern Alpine Mountain Range, and into modern day Vienna. The Germans controlling this area are called the Bavarians.
The Margraviate of Austria is established around this time being ruled by the Babenberg dynasty, the first organized nation of what would become of Austria. This land would be overruled by the Duchy Bavaria
The Margraviate of Austria is upgraded to the Duchy of Austria and is fully detatched from Bavarian rule, becoming a somewhat sovereign nation in the Holy Roman Empire. They would also be ruled by the Babenberg family.
A while after the extinction of the Babenberg family due to the lack of successors to the throne, German ruler Rudolf I took the crown under the Habsburg family, starting a half millennium long ruling of the Austrian throne.
